Moralizing judgements have no place in objectively evidence-based legislation.

The "war on drugs" is a categoric failure by every possible measure and this opioid crisis was literally created and perpetuated by legal drug manufacturers and dealers anyway.

And whether it's "addicts" or not is irrelevant - anyone who picks up is at risk, whether they have a problem or not. "Recovery" is not "the answer" and no disrespect to those for whom it is/was for them and think it is, but ever notice that fentanyl never ends up in cigarettes? Like, not once ever? Exactly. This is about policy, not "individual choices."

The ongoing death toll is the direct result of spineless legislators with no political will (and/or equally shameful political obstinance in their refusal to do the single obvious thing) and pure corporate greed. Cuz big business and all its gov't friends are makin' stratospherically unprecedented $))BANK(($.

Every opioid-related death that has happened - and will happen - is a completely preventable, 100% political death. Every. Single. One.
